  • Freelance Fashion Stylist

    • Freelance Stylist are usually hired by a production company and their work can include television commercials, magazine shoots, and or music videos. As a fashion stylist, you are more than likely going to be styling a model most of the time. Sometimes you could be styling a celebrity and in this case, the celebrity is not your client because that would make you a celebrity stylist. If you want to work for a magazine full time as a fashion stylist your title would be either a “Fashion Editor” or a “Marketing Editor”. If you're someone who likes the idea of promoting a product visually or loves editorial features then you would like to be a Fashion Stylist.

  • Personal/Celebrity Stylist 

    • A personal stylist and a celebrity stylist are very similar. As a personal stylist, your client could be anyone from a Local Public Official to working professionals. As a celebrity stylist, you would of course be styling s celebrity for events such as award shows, red carpets, tv appearances, or interviews. Personal stylists and celebrity stylists are hired to help create or maintain a brand image of their clients. Anytime a celebrity is in the public eye they need a fashion stylist. So if you like working with people and helping create an image or persona then this type of styling would be perfect for you.

  • Costume Designer

    • A costume designer's primary responsibility is to help build the looks around a particular character, whether it's for a film, a tv show, or a stage production. The client of a costume designer is whoever the production company is for that particular film, tv show, or stage play. A costume designer is one of the most complex versions of styling because depending on your project you will be responsible for a lot more research. Costume designers also might have to create a costume from scratch, to succeed at this it’s important that you understand the script and story so that you can use your imagination and bring the fictional characters to life.   • Personal Shopper

    • Personal Shoppers can be hired by a retail company, clothing brand, celebrities, public figures, and or working professionals. Being a personal shopper allows you to learn how to work with different types of people and body types.
