Artist Spotlight: Tai Ceme

Artist Spotlight is a fashion-focused segment that takes a deep dive into the unique backstories and their creative processes. Highlighting the fashion industry's hidden gems and innovative talents.

Tai Ceme is a Brooklyn-based MAU that specializes in clean beauty and editorial makeup. Ceme’s commercial and editorial work has a clean and healthy glow aesthetic. Tai Ceme graduated with an Associates's degree in Fashion Merchandising Fashion Institute of Technology before starting her career as a freelance makeup artist. Ceme’s work has been featured in Vogue magazine, Byrdie, Glamour, and House of Coco. Ceme would then go on to start a skincare-based makeup brand Tai-Lite. She was inspired to create Tai-Lite after not being able to find highlighters that were colorful and pigmented that would show up on dark skin. Tai also saw that the clean beauty concept in the makeup industry was not marketed towards the black community and saw an opportunity to fix that. The products have clean skincare ingredients that are perfect for the majority of all skincare types.
