Artist Spotlight: Sohee Park

Artist Spotlight is a fashion-focused segment that takes a deep dive into the unique backstories and their creative processes. Highlighting the fashion industry's hidden gems and innovative talents.

For the 26th segment in this series, we are highlighting Sohee Park, a London-based couturier designer.

Sohee Park also known as “Miss Sohee”, is a London-based Womenswear demi-couture designer and Central Saint Martins graduate. After graduating with a BA in Fashion Design Womenswear with Marketing in 2020 her gowns were featured on publications such as Vogue, L’officiel, Elle, Vanity Fair, and W and on the cover of LOVE Magazine’s seminal A/W 2020 issue. Her designs are a combination of her ultra-feminine panache and former trinkets from her past. Park first became interested in fashion when she saw the Chanel Spring 2021 couture show on tv at 14 years old. She chose haute couture because she appreciated the hand sewing, embroidery, and hard work that goes into making all of the garments. Park believes that couture shouldn't just be for big fashion houses that have ateliers in Paris because it is about artistry and craftsmanship. Some of Park’s recent collections contain major elements of sustainability. Sourced recycled crystals and fabric made from the abacá plant, a species of the banana tree, are used to create beautiful gowns. Her designs have now been seen on Bella Hadid, Gemma Chan, Naomi Campbell, and Cardi B, just to name a few celebrities.
