Pat McGrath is a British makeup artist known as the “queen of makeup” in the beauty industry. Her versatility and creativity are why she is known as the most influential makeup artist in the world. McGrath was born and raised in Northampton, England, and credits her Jamaican mother Jean for introducing her to the world of hair, makeup, and fashion. She was never truly trained in the makeup industry and only completed a foundation course at Northampton College. In the 1990s she began to rise in popularity and create her breakthrough in the beauty industry. She designed Giorgio Armani’s beauty line in 1999. In 2017 she released her own cosmetic line that included eye and lip pencils, lipsticks, eyeshadow palettes. McGrath also won the Founder’s Award at the CFDA Fashion Awards in 2017. In 2014 she became the creative design director for cosmetic lines with CoverGirl and Max Factor. She has also worked with Prada, Armani, and Louis Vuitton.
